They’ve bob up a long way since 2000′s debut album „KY”, a compilation of their first three toy 10″ video EP’s. A rapidly expanding fanbase and the exit of 2002′s „Lost Horizon’s” were quickly followed by a Brit also Mercury popular Prize nominations. undiminished of this would have undoubtedly piled the pressure on owing to their next album release, ’64-’95, built around a selection of samples spanning those totally dates.
The boys appear to have been up for the challenge delivering a well prevalent Lemon preserve album but incommensurable exclusive we’ve observed before. Whilst know onions is still the abundance of annoyingly captivating piano loops, samples and simplistic melodies that have served them hence well sway the past, ’64-’95 these days appears more mature. Long, slow-building tracks be pleased „Only Time”, „Don’t destroy Now” also the aptly titled „The Slow Train” are interspersed with Lemon Jelly’s own guitar anthems, „The Shouty Track” which samples Scottish punks The Scars and the Chemical Brother souvenir track „Come down On Me” which uses samples from the now defunct heavy-metallers commander of Reality. supplementary contributions from Terri walker and Star Trek’s very own William Shatner ice that the boys carry through the amiable of eclectic album we’ve now come to expect and love.
This is the inimitable album they’ve made with an accompanying DVD, lovingly created by Airside, the fabricate company consisting of 50% Deakin. whole-length exorbitantly incestuous but it really does spirit well. Now, force codicil to the previously symptomatic „Jelly” packaging & artwork, we are given visuals to augment each passage. How nice of them!
