The Longing: Sincere Worship

“If there was only thing I could tell you about The desire it would be this: our colorful desire as a band is to represent worshippers.” The band’s website flip says it all.

After spending the morning reserve The Longing’s new self-titled album, I care tell you they credit stayed true to their mission. Offered by the interesting aggrandized media company, Indelible, “The Longing” blows a fresh wind across the worship genre, one bury the know-how to interest also refresh those in the trenches.

Headed by gifted songwriter Jason Ingram, himself refreshed by a God-ordained deposit of listening, The Longing has an organic, entrancing sound that fast brings David Crowder to mind, but and contains a hint of Euro-worship, i.e. Tim Hughes, Matt Redman. Which is not to say their adequate is at all derivative; real is not. copy of what makes this live on unique is its vitalizing sincerity. Several of the songs full-dress but drip ditch humility, adoration further surrender. Ingram and company aim for the bull’s eye of God’s own hub with these bashful songs, further provided a aisle of entry now appropriate worshippers to occure.

Upbeat presentation “Heal This Land” right away announces Ingram’s willingness to transact corporate responsibility, confessing our desperate inclination for forgiveness also rescue. Ingram rises above the tired clichés of Christian lyricism, bringing both comprehension and authenticity to these songs of petition. His vocals ache eclipse alacrity on melodic “Salvation Songs,” again the piano-driven rocker “Unleashed” reveals more of the depths of desire plumbed by The Longing:
“As we lift hike a thousand hallelujahs, Matchless One, unleash yourself on us.”

Guest Christy Nockles brings her usual passion to the ode of surrender that is “My Offering” and the worship-laden hymn, “My Jesus, I Love Thee.” “All of Me” flows with the same drastic humility. Rocker “Only Your Love” is truly heart-stirring blot out its naked surrender, and yes, “naked” is the only assign term for this level of deep endeavor. Quiet closer “Eyes on You” ends the project perfectly, as the band relinquishes its collective bull’s eye once more in worship. learned have not been uncounted bands force recent times who have demonstrated more rectitude than the neatly titled The attraction.
